Giclee or Print Custom Order
Giclée?
You will find several subjective English translations for the French word
giclée (jet of liquid), but the term is most commonly being used today
to describe the method of art reproduction using extremely high quality
inkjet printers capable of producing archival art reproduction prints.
Why Giclée?
Better said, why not giclée. Giclée prints are extremely high quality,
having a much broader color gamut than litho prints and demand a
higher selling price. The giclée method gives the artist and the
publisher the option to print on demand freeing up the need to
inventory hundreds if not thousands of prints.
